What can I say about this book? This book is written for everyone who wants to train safely-effectively and learn to analyse and prevent KB injuries . So in short this book is for beginners to advanced because there is always something new that we can learn. Taco goes step by step from parts of our bodies ( and explains how to prevent or if there is some discomfort what exercises to use while working on recovery ) For me it was an eye opener with almost every part of training because I’m self taught and had many injuries due to lack of technique . After I read the book my training is on another level ! Once again this is the book that everyone should read and study no matter on what level you are and I’m thankful that I came across it ! E.K.
All laid out for me . Very helpful
This book should be a must have in every KB enthusiast library. I am 40 years old and a beginner in the Kettlebell world. I have done other sports in the past (non-weightlifting) and I have collected a couple of injuries through the years (Shoulder Slap Tear, Right Knee ACL replacement surgery and low back pain due to a sedentary lifestyle). I was looking for a sport that can help me to get stronger and at the same time help me with healing my injuries and through recommendations of friends and internet research I got to know Caveman training. Due to my injuries I have learned that before starting any type of training, one should develop proper technique and understand the risks that could develop if the sport is not done properly and since I wanted to start in the Kettlebell world I started to look for literature that addressed this topic. I found a lot of videos, websites, influencers, etc. that "teach" how to use a KB but none of them addressed the potential injuries and risks, and how to mitigate them, until I found Caveman training and was recommended this Book directly by Taco Fleur. The book "Preventing Kettlebell Training injuries" provides a very wide and comprehensive understanding on what are the risks of injury when using a KB in all body parts, but the best part of it is that it teaches you how to mitigate that risk of injury or pain by teaching the proper technique. The book provides an insight on how all the parts of the body participate on the different KB techniques, and it also provides potential causes for pain or discomfort. It has interactive materials with drawings, pictures, and links to videos where you can compare a wrong technique with a correct technique, this for me was an eye-opener, because it's very visual, and the mistakes are very easy to identify. As a beginner, at the moment I am solely focusing on improving my double hand swing, and my turkish get up, and thanks to the insight of the book i have been able to improve my technique and mobility, and definitively reduce pain in my back and joints. I will continue using this book as I progress, as the base for my development on more advance techniques. I highly recommend this book to any KB enthusiast at all levels, especially for people like me that struggle with some injuries or pain, this will help you to really enjoy the sport and progress steady.

This is an informative book covering common injuries often experienced by beginners to kettlebells. This book makes a great companion to any kettlebell training. The book is divided into two main sections: one covering individual body parts and injuries related to them and the second section covering kettlebell exercise mistakes and how to correct them, essentially covering injuries from different perspectives. The breakdown into individual body parts makes it easy for readers to reference specific sections as they are needed. The book includes photos, diagrams and links to videos showing incorrect and correct form helping the reader get a better understanding of the topics covered. Taco also provides a brief section on warming up for training - why we should warmup and how to warm up and a suggested warm up to follow Finally he provides guidance on what to do if you become (or perhaps are already) injured. Readers are encouraged to be honest with themselves to get to the cause of the injury and how to recover from it. One aspect that some readers may struggle with encounter is the use of medical terminology. While the book covers various joint actions like dorsiflexion and plantarflexion, it might be helpful to provide simpler explanations for these terms. Some readers, particularly those new to fitness or medical concepts, might find these terms challenging to understand without additional context. The book will serve as an excellent reference no mater where you are in your kettlebell journey.
Just finished reading this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in kettlebells. The book is set out in a logical sequence, covering all potential injury sites and how to mitigate them. I particularly liked the section on self-diagnosis.

Since I am new to kettlebell training I needed to start the training program at the same time as the safety training program so that I could understand the terms and techniques discussed in the safety training. They work really well together for me. Both training sessions are excellent and exceed my expectations. Great job Taco!
Being a complete novice with kettlebells, the course to date is providing me with the tools needed to begin and develop my training safely and effectively. It's an investment of time but I'm remaining optimistic that the results will be positive.
